Wow! It is crazy busy “out there” today. Shoppers, drivers, just people in general. I went out early to pick up a camera card so I could be ready to catch all of the happy faces. As many people as there are, though, they are all pretty friendly. One clerk I encountered was more than helpful and we had a great conversation. Another person noticed I was from out of town and asked about where I was from. All in all, it’s hetic but the holiday spirit is still present.

I leave today to start my Christmas visitations. First up to my brother’s house in Sacramento, then off to San Francisco to see my daughter. Have I packed? Nope. What am I doing instead of a million little errands to get ready? I am writing to my blog for the first time in over a year. I wonder if I am avoiding something
It should be lots of fun visiting, so I guess I am avoiding the getting ready part. The corgis got their bath on Saturday. I just have to divide the gifts into two boxes, pack a few clothes and I am off. Have a great Christmas and I hope to post back to here during my travels.

Who would have thought that I would give serious consideration to working out? The last time I joined a gym, it was closed for two months before I even noticed! What is the problem? Why can’t I just go for a walk once in a while? My guess… motivation. I prefer outdoor activities like kayaking… now THAT”S fun! It is boring to “just” walk. Who would have thought that technology could come up with an electronic motivation device? It’s amazing! It’s addictive! It’s interactive! It talks to you and keeps you going. If you are flagging you can push and hold the center button of the iPod and your own special “power song” comes on to give you that little extra inspiration. Just knowing I HAVE a power song is motivating. Three cheers for Nike + iPod!
